NPL Award

FARMERS has a dedicated team of engineers and scientist working on a number of R & D projects and this work has been greatly enhanced through the close partnership with The Queen’s University of Belfast.

This work has been at International Standard Research Level and has rewarded the company with significant advances in technology, materials and products. We at FARMERS were delighted to receive the Metrology for World Class Manufacturing Award 2001. This is a clear endorsement of what a dynamic company can achieve when it wholeheartedly champions research and development. This award was supported by the National Physic Laboratory of the UK and the Department of Trade and Industry of HM Government.
We were honoured to spend some time with the Permanent Under secretary of State for Industry Lord Sainsbury to discuss the key factors in our success and the challenges that face our industry. As one of our Lead Engineers Graham Milligan has stated, “It is a great endorsement of the ground breaking research we have engaged in. Furthermore it is a clear example of what can be achieved when a dedicated and talented team come together in a creative environment.”
