Queen’s Award for Innovation

At FARMERS we have always dedicated ourselves to the highest standards of excellence.

This has encompassed all aspects of our company, from marketing to manufacturing, from research to support. We have been delighted this commitment has been recognized through a Queen’s Award for Enterprise 2001 in Innovation. We were delighted to receive the Queen’s representative the Bill Hall, the Lord Lieutenant of County Down to present the Award. As the Lord Lieutenant stated in his speech, “To achieve an award of this caliber requires the utmost commitment of all concerned, research and development, and above all standards which are second to none in world markets.” Managing Director Philip Orr added, “It’s an achievement of the whole company, and the only award of its kind for innovation excellence in Northern Ireland. Process, product and people have been creativity combined to create innovation. The Queen’s award has been deservedly awarded to everyone in the company, individually and as a team!”
The Research and Development programme at FARMERS is carried out in partnership with the Queen’s University of Belfast through the TCS Programme.
