Expansion Announcement

Steve Orr Ltd made the following investment announcement today

During the last five years Steve Orr Ltd subsidiary UPU Industries Ltd, based Dromore, Co, Down, have developed significant sales of agricultural blade crop products in the demanding United States market. Solid business relationships and market share have been achieved by manufacturing quality products in conjunction with an effective long-term marketing plan.

Group Managing Director, Mr. Philip Orr, said, “this year has seen unprecedented demand for UPU Industries Ltd products in the USA market. In order to expand and develop the business in America the company realises that it is now vital a manufacturing presence is established. This commitment will enhance service to existing and prospective customers”

Through a new subsidiary Steve Orr Ltd will invest $ 11 Million in establishing a state of the art production facility in Kansas, USA that will be operational June 2004.

The production capacity and capability at the Dromore facility will not be affected by this new expansion. Today’s announcement confirms Steve Orr Ltd continuing commitment to manufacturing.

- UPU Industries Ltd is a 100% subsidiary of Steve Orr Ltd, based at 1 Quillyburn Business Park, Banbridge Road, Dromore, Co. Down, Northern Ireland,
- UPU Industries Ltd manufactures high performance round bale netting and hesston baler twines exporting to more than 20 countries. Selling under the “Farmer’s” brand.
- UPU Industries Ltd has Investor in People status.
- UPU Industries Ltd was awarded the Queens Award for Enterprise, Innovation 2001.
- UPU Industries Ltd currently employee more than 50 people at it’s recently expanded Dromore plant.
